Parking Options Effective April 1st

We may no longer use the Temple parking lot. Finding a solution to the parking has been and remains the Board’s top priority. Please continue to use only the blue outlined parking spaces. Until the parking issue has been resolved, here are other parking options:

  • Street Parking: Use the street parking on McKnight and Crixdale immediately to our east.
  • Carpool: Carpool from your homes or other convenient locations with other bridge players.
  • Reserved Spots at the Center for Carpoolers: On a trial basis, we are designating the 5 spots in front of our front door (not the handicapped spots) as reserved until 10:00, for those who arrive with three or more players in one car. This is on the honor system- unlike our landlord, we won’t tow you.

Thank you for your patience and suggestions. Please continue to share your ideas.

SLBC Will Raise Money to Fight Alzheimer's Disease

The St Louis Bridge Center has once again formed a team to participate in the Longest Day. The Longest Day is a joint effort between the ACBL and the Alzheimer’s Association to increase awareness of and raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Last year, the SBLC raised over $34,000 for the Longest Day, which placed it third nationally among participating ACBL teams. Linda Powers and Jane Ettelson will co-chair the event again this year.

You can help us raise money in several ways.

  • Making a donation to our team by clicking here.
  • Participating in our charity games, Thursday, March 24 and Monday, April 18
  • Participating in our silent auction, by donating or bidding on items. Details regarding the auction will follow at a later date. If you have an item you’d like to donate, please contact Mary Ellen Strebeck (314-226-6652, or gstrebeck010@earthlink.net) or Linda Powers (314-973-0398, or mscorgipaws@sbcglobal.net)
  • Playing one, two or three games on June 20, the Longest Day:
    • Sanctioned games will be at 9am, 1pm and 6pm.
    • Social bridge players may play at 9am and 6pm.
    • Lunch is available for purchase.
    • Bruce Greenspan, a Master Teacher, will give a free lecture at noon, or
  • Buying a raffle ticket for a chance to win a dinner for four at Annie Gunn’s

Please support us in one of more of the ways above!!

The end to Alzheimer’s can start with us. author unknown

Zero Tolerance Policy

Our Board of Directors strongly believe that all experiences at St. Louis Bridge Center should be positive and friendly. As such, we have addopted a "Zero Tolerance" Policy that is strictly enforced at all games. Click here to see the policy.

Online Partnership Desk

Looking for a partner? We have an excellent tool to help members find partners for any of our games. You can find it in the link bar on the left. This tool allows you to login and enter games where you are in need of a partner. You can also login to see a list of all players currently looking for partners. To access the system all you need is your ACBL number.

SLBC has a BIG HEART

The LONGEST DAY event was an enormous success! Not only did our team raise awareness of the devastating disease of Alzheimer’s, but it also raised more than $33,000 for treatment and research. The St. Louis Bridge Center now ranks 3rd in the nation among the participating ACBL teams, and our Team Captain Linda Powers ranks 1st among individual captains. Click here to read more.

Swing Players Needed

This program is important to allow us to always guarantee a partner for players that show up without a partner. You can pick a day of the week, or certain days where you agree to come to a game and be a swing player if needed. If you play that day, you play for FREE. If you aren’t needed, you receive a FREE game pass for another day. So you are helping the Center AND earning a free game regardless of whether you play that day or not.

"ASK BRUCE"

You have questions - We have answers! As a member of St. Louis Bridge Center, you have exclusive access to one of the best bridge minds in the country. Bruce Greenspan has graciously offered to answer your bridge-related questions!

Free Training Lessons

We have a section on our website for local pros and teachers to publish bridge lessons for the benefit of our members. You can click on the link on the left to access these lessons. We encourage all local pros and teachers to consider submitting lessons for publishing on behalf of our members.

St. Louis Bridge Center is dedicated to teaching and growing the game of bridge in the St. Louis community. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced bridge members to share their knowledge.
